Jeffrey J. Szymanski is the Director of Information Systems at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), an integrated global health enterprise headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and one of the leading nonprofit health systems in the United States. Jeff is responsible for the iSeries system administration, computer operations, data center facility management, disaster recovery, enterprise output management, production control, and the print center operations. He has been in information technology for 26 years, including 19 years at UPMC. Jeff successfully led consolidations of multiple hospital data centers, while maintaining 99.99% system availability for the enterprise systems. Most recently, Mr. Szymanski merged multiple enterprise print and copy centers into one state of the art center. A result of the consolidation was improved service levels and an annual cost savings of $736,384.

Mr. Szymanski has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Robert Morris University. He has spoken at international Data Center Operations conferences with AFCOM, Xplor, Quest Software, and IBM iSeries Forums. He has professional affiliations with the Data Center Userfs Group, Associations for Computer Operations Management (AFCOM), XPLOR - The Electronic Document Systems Association, Printing Industries of America / Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. He has also published technical articles in The Computer Operations Manager, IBM Systems, CIO Business Technology Leadership, and Integrated Solutions magazines.
